Rise of the Dragons

Once our world was full of dragons who lived in harmony with humans. Dragons counseled kings and queens. They fought in human battles. And they gave humans the most precious gift of all: magic. But after a group of rogue dragons, the Raptors, tried to take over Earth, all dragons were banished to another realm. Most humans forgot about the dragons, claiming they never existed. Eleven-year-old Sirin knows the truth-she grew up with stories passed down through the generations. However, when her mother falls ill, even Sirin has trouble believing in magic, until she sees a mysterious streak of silver in the night sky.

Angie Sage

Angie Sage

Angie Sage lives in the West of England where there are still stories of dragons from times long ago, when the Vikings raided the coast in ships with heads of dragons carved on their prows. Angie lives near an estuary and loves to watch the coming and going of the tides and the endless squabbles of the water birds. She has two grown-up daughters and one small boat named Morhwynnenn, which is Cornish for sand hopper. Angie spends most of her time thinking, writing and helping to fix up the old house that she shares with her husband, but Morhwynnenn is a party boat and in the summer she likes to go out and have fun. Morhwynnenn particularly likes going to the cafe out in the middle of the estuary and doesn’t mind at all if Angie goes with her.
